Answered by our opticians
Eye drops, sorted.
Which Hycosan should I start with?
For mild, occasional dryness start with Hycosan Preservative-Free. If your eyes feel dry by mid-afternoon most days, step up to Hycosan Extra. Hycosan Intense is for persistent, more severe dry eye, while Hycosan Night is an overnight ointment.
Hycosan or Thealoz Duo: what is the difference?
Both are preservative-free. Hycosan is built around sodium hyaluronate to hydrate. Thealoz Duo adds trehalose, which helps protect the cells on the eye surface as well as hydrate.
How often can I use them?
Preservative-free drops can usually be used whenever your eyes need them. Follow the directions supplied with the individual product or the advice of your optician.
Why does preservative-free matter?
Some preservatives can irritate the eye surface when drops are used frequently. Preservative-free formulas are often preferred for regular dosing, sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
How long does a bottle last once opened?
Many modern multi-dose bottles use a one-way valve to keep the contents sterile. The usable period varies, so always check the individual product packaging.
Are these suitable for sensitive eyes?
Preservative-free formulas are designed to reduce avoidable irritation, but stop using a product and speak to an optician if discomfort continues.
Can I use these with my contact lenses in?
Many preservative-free lubricating drops can be used while soft lenses are in place, but this is product-dependent. Confirm the current pack instructions before use.
Will drops help lens-related dryness?
A suitable lubricating drop can help with end-of-day lens discomfort. If dryness is persistent, arrange an eye test so the fit, material and prescription can be checked.
How fast is delivery?
Standard UK delivery is normally 3 to 5 working days. Orders over £99 qualify for free tracked shipping under the current delivery policy.
Is the stock genuine?
Yes. Quality Eyes sources its eye-care stock through recognised suppliers and sends products in their original manufacturer packaging.
Can I return eye drops?
Unopened products may be eligible for return under the store returns policy. Opened bottles cannot normally be accepted unless the product is faulty.
